From April to October we get consistent, clean swells that originate between South Africa and Antarctica, that make their way past Australia, before finally reaching our little surf haven. Winds tend to be the best earlier in the dry season and get more consistent in the latter months. However this is not always the case and we have had many seasons with clean conditions all the way through into the wet season. It is more crowded during these months but the quality of the waves will make up for it. After multiple days of perfect surf, the crowd gets a bit burned out and there is always a window where you can have waves with only a few people out.

From November to March, the wet season brings a refreshing change, with smaller waves and glassy offshore conditions that last all day, often followed by a brief afternoon shower. This is our favorite time of year — the crowds are relaxed, the landscape is lush and vibrant, and the waves are fun nearly every day. It’s also a special time to connect more intimately with the local surf community. With the hustle and bustle of the dry season behind us, the faces in the lineup become familiar, creating a laid-back, welcoming atmosphere that makes each surf session even more enjoyable.
